The Brown Cane Print
When Uncle $crooge #219 was published. There were 3 versions printed and distributed.
The first, was the news stand edition, and is the most sought after due to a little printing flaw that developed after a while. The first issues to roll out of the printing press had the canes and Glomgold's jacket a nice brown color.
Brown is a combination of red, blue and yellow, while green is a combination of blue and yellow.
After a while the red ink started to run out and gradually became more and more green.
The newsstand copies were printed first and little by little become more olive green, and in the end entirely green. Glomgold's jacket also changes color throughout the printings.
When the direct-sales* issues started printing, the red had completely run out. This color is called chartreuse, which is a mix of 50% blue and 50% yellow. This has led to some publishers coloring the canes a wrong color on their covers.
(*Direct-sales issues where the prints sent directly to comic shops).
